Dr.Smitha’s expertise lies in the following areas:
Management of all major childhood cancers, namely leukaemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, brain tumours, bone tumours, Wilms’ tumours, germ cell tumours, soft tissue sarcomas, neuroblastomas and retinoblastomas.
Management of blood disorders, such as anaemia, low platelet counts and clotting problems, thalassemias, sickle cell disease, aplastic anaemias, Itp, etc.
Administration of bone marrow transplantation - including autologous, allogeneic, haploidentical and cord blood transplants.
Administration of high-dose chemotherapy, Intraventricular chemotherapy and intraperitoneal chemotherapy
Dr. Smitha’s special interest lies in T cell-depleted transplant and haploidentical HSCT. She also has a special interest in the management of Acute and Chronic GVHD.
